happy thoughts

These are the best days of my life…this is my current status in YM…and why not, that’s exactly how I feel right now…Not that I don’t have any problems as of the moment, coz I still have a number of them (but that’s for another entry), it’s more like I just refuse to dwell on the negative vibes around me and focus more on what makes me happy…below are some of the major reasons why I say that these, indeed, are the best days of my life:

1) a happy family – for the longest time now, I never really had a major argument with my mom…and for the first time in years, I felt that she finally saw where I’m coming from when she said, “ok lang yan anak, you’re single, and you’re earning your own money, enjoy mo lang…” (when I told her that me and my college berks are going to Ilocos)…I was really surprised coz she was always the one who kept telling me to spend wisely and save for rainy days…eh medjo puro out-of-town since I got back from US so you can just imagine the expenses…as for my dad, I never really had problems dealing with my him for as long as I can remember kaya ok lang…hehehe…I’m a daddy’s girl eh ;)

2) fulfilling Career (not with a K though) – I must say that this is one of the most challenging project that I got involved with and within a year, we’ve finally gone live! All our efforts finally paid off! The sense of fulfillment that you get after a really hard work is just priceless! No amount of overtime pay nor bonus (though that wouldn’t hurt! ;) ) can ever match that!

3) Great work environment – I never really thought that I’d meet such great people in my current team…I mean, yes, there may be times when work sucked big time, but knowing that we’re all in this together (as I quote robin) just made it a lot easier to bear…and the people in the project that I eventually got to know better are just as wonderful…the idea of having to put the whole team in one floor was just brilliant! And that weekly GP2W activity just drives me to the office every time!

4) Amazing trips! – it’s been just half of the year but I’ve already been to different places. Of course, how can I ever forget my Chicago stint? Within that stint were a series of mini-trips to different places in and out of the city…and the spree didn’t end there coz there were more trips when I got back! Our most recent trip to Ilocos was my favorite…As draide puts it, this is the most sulit 3-day trip…aside from swimming in Pagudpod, which by the way has splendid beaches, we were able to see Paoay Church, Malacañang of the North, Agua Grande, Paraiso ni Anton (funny name!), Blue Lagoon (which is comparable to the fine beaches in Boracay) Plaza Salcedo, Marcos Mausoleum, and the Colonial Houses in Vigan…we visited all these places in just a span of 3 days plus nakapagvideoke and bonding session pa kami…super saya talaga ng trip na toh…

5) Wonderful friends! – I’m not really the type who easily opens up to people and build lifetime friendships pero I must say that over the past few months, I was able to establish real friendship with some fantastic people… and believe me, that is such an achievement for me! Loner kc talaga ako eh…And it’s just nice that after a hard day’s work, you meet up with these people and talk about anything and everything under the sun…it’s just amazing how we never run out of things to talk about…

6) Karir (with a ‘K’) – yes I’m still single, but I’m just happy right now with the way things are in the love department…There’s this old crush (ok that's an understatement - love’s probably more like it) na nakakausap ko ulit lately and only God knows kung gano ko kakilig (well cguro si roch alam din! Hehehe)…it’s just that sobrang mahal ko toh way back precom years and the thought that he’s now sending me messages sa cell and sa friendster and sa ym just brings back all the kilig days…haayy… I’m just plain happy and inspired... :)

Amidst these times when our country is in such a terrible state, it’s nice to look at the little things that make us happy and forget about all the hullabaloos our government has brought into our poor nation.
