singapore rendezvous
about a week ago, thursday night to be exact, I flew to singapore to visit rots, tin and the rest of the excenture peeps there.
First night pa lang, after arriving at around 9:30PM, shempre coffee kaagad! For people like us who almost have a daily dose of coffee back in manila, you can say we have a lot of catching up to do since we moved to different locations...so off we went to coffee bean and started our banter which lasted for like 2 hours. We almost missed the last trip if not for uncle (that's how they call their elderly there I think! hehehe) who let me in without a ticket and just told us to purchase one when we get off the train.
I stayed at rots' apartment...yep, ung super luurve nyang apartment...hehehe...the place is nice and super convenient nga eh! yun nga lang, ayaw nya ung kahousemate nya...but that's another story...hehehe...so yun...after a few failed attempts to sleep (ang dadaldal kc), we got knocked out at around 3 na ata...
The following day, roch and tin (my official tour guides) had to go to work so I went out to explore singapore for the first time on my own. First stop: Suntec City. Winner ang mall na toh, imagine 5 towers of shopping heaven?! I arrived at around 2pm and wont meet up with them girlfriends until around 530 so I spent the afternoon going around and checking out stuffs... I ended up buying pants and books while waiting for them and of course, tumambay sa starbucks for yosi and coffee! hehehe...We were supposed to go to Fish and Co. for dinner but unfortunately it is jampacked and we're already starving so we went to LP instead for good ol' pinoy dishes! gaahd panalo ang daing na bangus! and of course I got to try sinigang din! just thinking about it makes me drool (insert yahoo's drooling emoticons here)!
After dinner, we went to starbucks (shempre san pa ba?!) and met up with liz. parang naka happy pills ang mga tao sa starbucks, everyone was so giddy, especially ung isang barista! oops, bago pala yan... how can I forget?! tin and i finally saw rots' love of her life (we almost thought that she's got an imaginary friend!hehehe)!!! sobrang nakakatawa ung eksena sa gym coz we had to pretend that we were interested to join, so may I sama ang agent sa amin para magtour (even sa locker room and steam room!) eh hanggang sunday lang naman ako dun and tin's leaving the week after! best actress ang kristeta for playing the part sooo well! hehehe...so yun, after that, kwentuhan na sa starbucks, hanggang sa umabot kay mahal ang kwento...gaahd sobrang riot...after coffee, uwian na to prepare for a long day ahead...
saturday lunch time...we all met up at queensway train station to go to ikea...first stop, eat ng balls! hehehe...i swear those were the best tasting balls i've eaten so far! hahaha...hoyy ambabastos nyo!!! i'm talking edible stuff here huh! sarap ng combination ng gravy and cranberry sauce! so un, after stuffing our faces with meatballs and chicken wings, shopping na!!! well, for them that is...hehehe...after a spending spree the day before, medjo pinigilan ko ang sarili ko sa paggastos this time...ang nabili ko lang ata that day were a new baby from havaianas and a shirt from GAP...yezz! they have gap in singapore demmit! gives me more reason to work there! hehehe...our adventure continued hanggang dun sa mga shoe store sa queensway and dun nga sa newly-opened gap at vivo city and the flipflops store at cathay(na may suki card na ata si rots)...and oh, we got to try kaya toast din pala sa baba sa may cathay after buying my havs...after that, we went to see the merlion...picture-picture ganyan para naman masabing nagpunta nga ako ng singapura! hehehe...after almost 12 hours of going around singapore, we didn't have enough energy anymore to drink ang paahrteee as earlier planned so we decided to call it a night...but wait, we did have time to drink pala...rots and I each took a shot of vanilla (salamat sa housemate nya! hehehe) and peach vodka...medjo malaking baso ang shot glass so just imagine kung gano kadami ang tag-isang shot na toh! hehehe...
sunday noon - tin and i met up at the city hall station and joined roch (who had to leave early morning to get her exit pass) raine, jo and gilbert at (drum rolls please) Fish and Co.! Finally!! I don't know if I just missed this resto so much but I really really loved the fish and chips! We don't have Fish and Co. kc dito sa Bangkok and when I tried fish and chips from other restos, nothing really comes close! kung may strawberry lemonade pa (just like in manila) i would have died! hehehe...
so un, after lunch, ikot-ikot sa mall, and shempre, sumamba ulit sa istarbux! imagine, 3 out of 4 days na nasa singapore ako eh nasa kapihan kami?! at that rate, parang mas madalas pa ang pagkakape ko dun kesa nung nandito ko sa bangkok...hehehe...and oh, I got to try old changkee...saraap!!! pero kung may suka sana sila na sawsawan nung squid head naku winnest! after going around some more sa mga malls, we attended mass (nakss...nagsisimba na kami ngayon together! hindi na lang puro lafang and shopping and chikahan...ibang lebel na! hahaha)...after the mass, we headed back to rots' apartment to get my stuff and go to the airport...and guess what, my flight got delayed for 2 hours (I was supposed to leave at 10) so tumambay muna kami sa burger king to have dinner and last minute chikahan...it's amazing how we never really run out of things to talk about!
I checked in for the flight at around 10PM...sobrang nakakalungkot that it will be months again bago kami magkita-kita...hayy...tin and rots we're telling me that I must have been cursing them already for taking me shopping instead of seeing the sights in singapore... are you fuckin' kidding me? I went there not just to see the sights but more importantly to see you guys and catch up with all the latest chika noh (kaya nga ngayon ako nagpunta na nandun tayong 3 diba?!)...besides, sabi nyo nga, there's nothing much to see naman, nalibot na nga natin ang kalahati diba...hewhewhew...
that's just about it for my short stint in singapore...what can I say about singapore in general? well, i liked the convenience of everything and that it's sooo friggin' clean. in fact, i liked it soo much i'm actually considering singapore for my next stop in search of a new career opportunity...let's see...hehehehe....
