the week that was...

After almost a week of silence, tama na pagpapanggap...tama na pagpipigil...inaantok na talaga ko sobra and I can't think of anything else to do...those reading materials sure work better than valium! I swear! I think doctors should start prescribing these kinds of books to people with sleeping disorders! pag di gumaling yan ewan ko na lang! oh well, on with my story... Last friday, the office was a ghost town... I found out from Rich (my lead here in US) that most people work from home on fridays...well good for me...Petiks lang the whole day...hahaha...I went shopping during lunch time and went back at 1:30 and even left the office before 5PM...Dinaanan ako nina ate emily and lynne then I just got some overnight clothes from the apartment and headed to their house...Tita was already preparing for dinner when we arrived...chicken afritada and monggo...boy how I miss Filipino dishes!!! Sa wakas makakakain na ko ng totoong lutong bahay!!! after dinner, didn't know na mapapasabak ako kaagad ng inuman...putcha...before I knew it, we were driving to the liquor store and buying a dozen of bud light (for me and lynne) and another dozen of another brand for ate emily and nancy (ate emily's best friend)...whew...this is gonna be one hell of a night...We stayed at nancy's place and met frank (nancy's husband), liz(nancy's sister) and the kids: naomi, gerard&julio--nancy's cute 2-year-old twins!, frankie and herman.. I downed 5 bottles of beer...funny thing is that I didn't really get drunk or anything!Still didn't lose the touch I guess! haha! Had I liked the taste of beer, malamang marami-rami pa kong nainom...hehehe... I just really don't like the bitter aftertaste...so un...we went home at around 3am, tapos kwentuhan pa kami ni lynne before we finally slept at around 4 ata un...Woke up the next day around quarter to 12 and just ate lunch, then off to the millenium park with ate emily, lynne, liz, nancy and kids...the park was nice and HUGE...design was really unique, it's like a space ship right in the middle of downtown chicago...too bad the "cloud" was closed...it won't open til summer daw...it's like a huge bean that shows the reflection of the whole place, and when you look at it daw, you'll see everyone's reflection but yourself...weird noh?? how'd they do that?? After that, we had an early dinner at Huck Finn.. food was great...medjo expensive nga lang...Lynne and I split the bill...medjo nakakahiya na kc kina ate emily for all the hassle I caused since I arrived...So ayun...tough luck for me, we were headed, once again, to the liquor store! darn! wala na ba tayong gagawin the whole weekend??? this time I requested for hard liquor...I just really can't take the taste of beer...so there I was, headed for the counter carrying a bottle of absolut vodka...Whew...nancy and ate emily were just shaking their heads in disbelief...hehehe...I was even more high-maintenance daw than they thought...hahaha...di naman...yaw ko lang talaga ng beer...we grabbed some cranberry juice and chips from the grocery store then went back to nancy's place...Had a plan this time though...I will not drink as much as I did last night...*evil grin*...hehehe...so after downing 2 glasses of vodka with cranberry juice, I played with the twins instead (Julio was adorable!!!) and watched cartoons with them...hehehe...And by some twist of fate (I swear this was not part of my plan), Julio snuggled beside me in the sofa...awww he was soooo cute...so there, he slept in my lap so I could not stand to join them in the drinkfest...I could actually hear them laughing and having so much fun from where I was sleeping but heck I could not bring myself to stand up coz baka magising si julio...or probably I was just not in the mood for another night of drinking session...hehe...Which made me realize something...Cguro over time, I have changed...I'd choose starbucks/sbc over a truckload of beer or even tequilla...Yes, at one point in my life I'd drink like there's no tomorrow...pero now I realize, after the effect of the alcohol's gone and the hangover comes in, it's no fun anymore...Cguro once in a while I would still want to drink like crazy pero di na ung like every night or every weekend I'm drunk as hell...shets...is this sign of old age???nooooohhh.. hehehe...maturity is more like it...hahaha...blog ko toh kaya walang kokontra!!!!

Woke up early sunday morning feeling really good (didn't have a bad hangover) and all perked up...We had brunch at tita gloria's house and ate lisa had some dvd's on...after which, she drove us to target to check out some digicams...I ended up buying one :) wooohooo!!!! finally!!!! hehehe....I bought a canon powershot sd110...not really that high end pero I love it...it's cute kc...maliit lang and has everything that I needed...after that, we went to krispy kreme and had my first taste of the famous donut...we then took a side trip to china town and checked out the place...sabi ni lynne it's like going to binondo din daw...I don't know coz I've never been there...On our way home, ate lisa treated us to another surprise, she bought us "ELOTE" (pronounced as i-lo-te) along the way...It's a mexican food--like corn on the cob but they put more stuff on it...it has butter, mayo, cheese and chili powder...boy it was delicious!!!! medjo natakot nga ako coz I might end up with an upset stomach pero hindi naman...I actually ate 2 coz meron ulit nagtitinda when we got home!hehehe...ganun sha kasarap... Ate emily drove me home at around 9pm sunday night coz may pasok na kinabukasan..

On monday morning, kachat ko na sina Anton and Raymond...they were looking for me the whole weekend pala...hehehe...sorry, I didn't know where to reach you guys eh kaya un...finally had someone to have lunch with...hehehe...ang saya...after office, I dropped by their apartment to see their place...josme duon na ko pinapatira...ayos...kc naman tama ba namang sa sala matulog at hindi gamitin ang rooms??!! Pero I'm actually giving it some thoughts...kc naman ang lungkot sa apartment...I hardly see my roommate kaya pagdating ng bahay wala na, tulog na lang kaagad...let's see...

Tuesday night, I had dinner with the team...potek, mag isa lang akong girl here in chicago...the other 3 girls are I think in New York or Philly...basta un...ayos naman...had fun...I never really felt out-of-place whatsoever...Super bait nung mga teammates ko...and....may kras ako!!!! *blush* hehehe....sabi ni anton muka daw backstreet :( hehehe...kebs...basta I find his smile cute...hewhewhew...may dimples kc...and he has a nice set of teeth ha...name's matt...aww...kinikilig ako just by mentioning his name!!!! hahaha...

Yesterday naman, I went to Marshalls and Rainbow during lunch time....Wala akong nabili sa marshalls...hahaha..ang mahal kc sobra...baka meron pang ibang stores na mas mura....bought 3 blouses at rainbow...I was actually looking for some nice black pants pero I ended up buying blouses...drat...gastos nanaman...hehehe...After office naman, anton, raymond and I went to old navy and marshalls to look for jackets...grabeh, medjo lang parang gurls mamili tong 2 toh!!!! super tagal pumili ng bibilhin!!! hehehe...ayos lang naman coz we had fun...Raymond was able to get himself a new jacket...si anton, walang napili...he'd rather spend 90bucks daw sa car accessories nya! =S after that, we went walking along michigan avenue hanggang sa apartment ko...we were just supposed to drop my stuff and eat dinner pero ang nangyare, we had dinner sa apartment...hehehe...at least nakatipid kmi...still had some lasagna left pa naman kc plus those lean cuisine meals kaya un...tapos I prepared strawberries and cream for dessert! yumyum! (gutom nanaman ako shet)... ayun, after eating, nakatulog sa sofa ung 2 sa kabusugan...grabeh, bilib ako kay raymond matulog! kung saan lang lumapat ang likod, ayos na! si anton din nun una kala mo ok pa eh...maya2 tulog na din! hehehe...no wonder they sleep sa sala sa apartment nila!! around 11:30 na ata sila nagising and headed home...ayun...

Wow, quite a long entry I might say...I started at around 5 ngayon 6PM na and almost everyone has gone home na...sheesh...I guess I'll have to end it here...hosha sha...baboosh! till next time folks! ;)
