single (and loving it!)

i just remembered something...when i woke up this morning, there were some visitors at home, some cousins of my dad...i just couldn't forget what one of them said while we were having lunch: "dapat mag-asawa ka na! mahirap pag nag-asawa ka kapag 30 ka na.." it took all the 23 years of my mom's strong discipline and a lot of decency for me not to blurt out "walang-pakialamanan!!!" hehehe...I have always been a believer of marrying for the right reasons, and age, apparently, is not in my list...i don't know if it's previous experiences with men (or the lack of it) made the cynic out of me but I won't marry just to have someone take care of me when I'm old! Yes, I still believe in love (contrary to popular belief! hahaha), but I have also learned that not every story ends with a 'happily ever after'...being single for life has actually been an option for me...if and when I'm forty and haven't found THE ONE just yet, I'd rather live the rest of my life alone...I actually got used to it already since most of my lifetime was spent just being that! ha! I think that's a lot better than settling. The hopeless-romantic in me still believes that 'anything less than mad love is just a waste of time'...
